So I’m in the mood to start making moves on my Scottrade account. I got about $3300 in the market right now. I’m challenging myself to try and double it by the end of the year. Let’s see how close I can get. In the time it’ll take me to succeed in my challenge I’ll be sharing the stocks I’m keeping my eye on and any trades (buy or sell) I make. I hope those of you who are looking to invest find my advice interesting and helpful. Let’s make moves.
So as we all know Apple (AAPL) has been all over the media for both exciting and unfortunate news. Apple has recently released a, well overdue, iPhone 4S. Although we were ALL expecting a newly designed iPhone, the 4S does come with many internal features that we were expecting in the rumored iPhone 5. I won’t get into those details, but you can find out most of that info in http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/. The reason I mention Apple is to connect it to a great potential stock choice. I’m looking at Cirrus Logic Inc. (CRUS) Cirrus Logic, in a nutshell, is a company that focus on audio devices to be installed in electronic products. For more info on this company check out http://finance.yahoo.com/q/pr?s=CRUS+Profile. The reason I’m connecting both of these stocks is that Cirrus makes the audio products that are installed in every iPhone now and in the future. They’ve worked together on previous iPhones and will most likely continue in the future. For every iPhone unit that is produced and sold, Cirrus obtains $3. Let’s just put that into perspective. In just 2 fiscal quarters of 2010, Apple has sold about 16 million units. That’s about $48 million for Cirrus, not bad huh?
With the new announcement of the iPhone 4S Cirrus will definitely be increasing its profits in 2011. The 4S was the last iPhone the late Steve Jobs worked on completely. Because of this I think the amount of phones that will be sold is going to skyrocket. Everyone is going to want the last amazing piece of art a genius, like Steve Jobs, has worked. However, the 4S isn’t the only iPhone I’m riding CRUS out for. In my opinion, Apple will be releasing the iPhone 5 by the end of the year or early February. I think I’ll be holding on to CRUS until the release of the next iPhone and jump out at the end of that quarter. By then, hopefully my investment will be up at least 30 – 40 points. Quick easy money. That’s what I’m after.
Thanks for reading. Stay tuned for another stock I’ll be reviewing. If you have any opinions or want me to give some input let me know.
